well… not really… but it does make me think my usual pot of coffee might not have that much
nutritional value… nor the same sugar content!

With the amount of tattooing going on these days, cover-ups and re-works are a big part of the job, i prefer re-works for obvious reasons, in general, things can be taken a bit further with a bit of patience and imagination, i felt this was a pretty good example of how a rough idea can be elaborated on, we opted on keeping it simpler then trying to make a quarter-sleeve out of it, couple new bats and a bit of background… and a whole new feel emerges…

as much as i would like to say tattooing is all about the art, it isn’t… it is about much more… as artist whom work with flesh as a medium, the responsibility of our clients well-being is just as important… before after and during the procedure.  these days, most artist have made the switch to disposable needles (which if you haven’t, do it… do it now!!!) and most artist know to wrap their equipment and provide as much disposable piece of the set up as they possibly can, and i am glad that the procedural part of our art has taken great strides from the olden days… and after many many years i have chosen to take it a step further by including disposable ‘tubes’ in every procedure..  (the tube is the ‘extension’ from a tattoo machine that houses and guides the tattoo needles.. )… throughout the years there has been many companies but they have not really held up that well during a long piece, nor the strength, or even the alignment to really be that great of a thing.. but with in the last year or so, some very good ones have come out.. and i am pleased to announce that i will be using them, to again, take it a step further in ensuring myself, and my clients the cleanest possible procedure they can get…

a note to artist.. i am not saying ‘using the metal tubes are bad’, i have done it for nearly 20 years… and still love the stainless tubes for many reasons, the disposables do cause some ‘drag’ on the needle, and machine adjustments sometimes are necessary, and of course if your cleaning and sterilizing metal tubes properly, then yea, still pretty great, but this way, for me, and my client, i can simply say, everything that touches their flesh, (and the person i did before them… and the people i will do after… ) is thrown away… it simply takes the guess work out of the whole process…
